Cllr Emily Benner is a finalist in the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) Young Councillor of the Year Star Awards 2019.

Cllr Emily Benner is a finalist in the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) Young Councillor of the Year Star Awards 2019. The awards recognise the achievements of the local (parish and town) council sector and celebrate the positive impact that councillors make in their communities.
Cllr Benner joined the Parish Council in February 2018 and in her short time on the council, she has
- Successfully organised a quiz night which raised £1,209 for Home Start Watford and Three Rivers and Alzheimer’s Society
- Created videos to promote the Neighbourhood Plan to local residents
- Recruited prospective candidates to stand for election in May 2019
Cllr Benner was re-elected to the Parish Council in May 2019 and received the highest number of votes of all candidates who stood for election in Durrants Ward.
The winners will be announced at the Star Councils Awards and dinner, hosted by the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher at NALC’s Annual Conference on 28 October.
