Reminder: Road Closures on New Road and The Green for Remembrance Parade This Sunday 10 November 2024
As we prepare to honour our fallen heroes, residents are reminded of important road closures scheduled for this Sunday to facilitate the annual Remembrance Parade.

Please see below for the detailed closures and timings to help plan your travel around these events.
Road Closure Details:
- New Road:
- Closure: New Road will be closed from the junction of Barton Way to The Green.
- Timing: The road will be closed from 1.30pm to accommodate the parade. Once the parade has passed, New Road is expected to reopen around 2:30 p.m. to allow traffic flow to resume.
- The Green:
- Initial Closure: The Green will be closed from just before New Road down towards Scot’s Hill at 1.30pm.
- Timing: To minimise disruption, The Green will temporarily reopen while participants are in the church service. However, it will close again from 3:15 p.m, between Windmill Drive and New Road, as the community gathers for the Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial.
Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes during these hours to avoid delays.
